Lakeside Music welcomes back Rupert Wates for another unforgettable show!


Rupert Wates’ music is an eclectic mix of acoustic, melodic art/folk, and even a little jazz. He’s a virtuoso guitar player who includes a few classical pieces in his show. Rupert has released twelve solo CDs, has received over 50 singer songwriter awards and has toured throughout the world. 

Lakeside Music regulars know this artist well, and his very long list of accolades.

Rupert’s CD ‘For The People’ 

#6 on the Folk DJ Top 100 Albums 

The title cut, ‘For The People’, #9 on the Song Chart 

and Rupert, #7 on the Artist Chart


Rupert’s original instrumental piece, 'Driverless Train', was selected as a semifinalist in the Instrumental Category of The International Songwriting Competition


Rupert’s song 'The Day the Great Ship Went Down' won the 'Outstanding Achievement In Songwriting' award as a Top 5 Finalist in the Folk/Americana Category of the Great American Song Contest


Rupert has been selected as an Official Showcase Artist at:

The Northeast Area Region Folk Alliance Conference (NERFA)

The Folk Alliance Region Midwest Conference (FARM)

The Southeast Area Region Folk Alliance Conference (SWERFA) 

The Far West Region Folk Alliance Conference (FAR-WEST)


Rupert is a Kerrville New Folk Finalist and a Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist


Rupert’s most recent album ‘Father to the Man’ was give 4 stars by Written Music


New songs, all the old favorites, sharp British wit, and that lovely tenor voice of his result in an unforgettableshow.
